Stress and anxiety:

Also drink an infusion or tincture of chamomile before going to bed. You can take linden flower, lemon balm or hops as infusions. You can also put rose petals or lavender pillows under the pillow. If insomnia persists, try tincture of passionflower, valerian, or hops. Drink half a teaspoon dissolved in a little water an hour before going to sleep and if you wake up, repeat the dose.

Nerve tonic.

Infused oils are different from essential oils and can be used for massages and also as a base when preparing creams and ointments. The best oils for infusions are vegetables such as sunflower, soy or olive.

Ingredients:

  • John’s wort flowers.
  • Vegetable oil of choice (olive, sunflower or soybean).

Preparation:

The way to prepare them is easy but slow. Prepare a clean, dry jar with a tight lid and fill it completely with your chosen herb.

  1. Pour the oil into the jar until the herbs are completely covered.
  2. Cover it and put the jar near a window where the sun shines. Leave it there for about two weeks, shaking and turning the jar every day. After that time, carefully strain the oil using a cloth spread over a container. The oil must be free of all vegetable residues.
  3. Store the oil in dark bottles, away from sunlight. They can be kept for up to a year. St. John’s wort flowers are yellow, but the oils will take on an intense red when the oils of the plant are diluted with the vegetable oil. This oil is excellent for giving a gentle massage where nervous tension has built up or in painful areas.

Congestion.

Steam inhalations can be used to relieve flu and colds, colds and sinusitis. They relax the airways and are beneficial for the mucous membranes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 drops of thyme essential oil
  • 2 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
  • 1 liter of water

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the chosen herbal infusion and add a liter of freshly boiled water.
  2. Then pour into a comfortable container. Sit down and put a large towel or cloth that covers your head and bowl so that the steam doesn’t escape. Continue the treatment for about ten minutes and then sit in a warm room for half an hour to allow the airways to adjust to the outside temperature.

Flu.

If you have a cold and fever for several days, in addition to having a headache and muscle aches, it is a sign that you have developed the flu. A suitable herb to treat these symptoms is the eupatorium, which quickly relieves pain and helps contain fever.

It also clears the mucous congestion of the respiratory tract. You can use an infusion of this herb either fresh or dried. Drink one cup per hour or as often as possible. You can combine the eupatorium with elderflower, yarrow or ginger. Add lemon and honey for flavor and vitamin C.

Fever.

When you have a fever, it is important to drink plenty of fluids to help the body clear the infection. Try an infusion of chamomile or linden flower, which are soothing herbs and increase sweating.

They guarantee a restful sleep, which will speed up recovery. You can also try an infusion that is prepared by mixing a teaspoon of grated ginger and cinnamon sticks in a cup of boiling water, with a little lemon and honey to taste. This infusion stimulates perspiration;  It also has vitamin C which helps to cure infections.

Cough problems.

Syrups can transform an infusion, decoction or tincture into a balsamic mixture for children and adults. They are useful in treating coughs and sore throats.

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml of thyme infusion.
  • 200g unrefined sugar or honey.

Preparation:

  • Prepare the infusion in the normal way, but let it steep for 15 minutes instead of 10. Strain the infusion as usual. Heat a saucepan and add sugar or honey, stirring constantly to dissolve all the sugar, taking care that it does not boil.
  • Let the syrup cool, then put it in bottles and cover.

This remedy takes advantage of the antiseptic and expectorant properties of thyme to relieve coughs and sore throats, and is especially suitable for children.

Throat pain.

A sore throat may be the first sign of an infection. If you also have a cold, use the suggested cold herbs that relieve a sore throat. You can also prepare a gargle with an infusion of red sage, thyme.

Repeat the gargle two or three times a day. All of these herbs have antiseptic properties that fight infection.

The tonsils.

Liver disease.

Pollution, high-fat fast foods, drug and alcohol abuse all put stress on the liver. In addition to food and lifestyle care, you can prepare a useful tonic with dandelion, queen of the meadows and hydrastis.
