The thyroid is a gland that delivers messages (hormones) between itself and other parts of the body so all those little cells are regulated and functioning at the proper levels. The hormones produced by the thyroid (T3 and T4) are essential for life and have many effects on metabolism, growth and development.

Thyroid health is important, because if it is not working properly, it can lead to developmental defects or weight gain. Food is our medicine, so eating the right foods will help support your thyroid to make sure it stays in top shape.

Carrots contain large amounts of beta-carotene, which is the precursor to vitamin A in the body. If you are low in vitamin A, your ability to produce thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is limited. This vitamin is required by the body to convert T4 to T3.

Vitamins of the B complex are necessary for the proper functioning of this gland.  Cucumbers contain B vitamins, so they are a good choice when it comes to nourishing the thyroid glands.

Without the B vitamins, the thyroid and adrenal glands stop secreting their hormones, and they will not be able to use their raw iodine material efficiently to produce hormones. B vitamins are especially helpful for people with an overactive thyroid gland.

Juice for the thyroid rich in Vitamins A and B and iodine.

  • 1 cucumber.
  • 5 stalks of celery.
  • Spinach leaves.
  • 1 apple.
  • 5 carrots.
  • 1 cup of coconut water.
  • 1 lemon.
  • 2 teaspoons of spirulina powder.

Pass everything through the extractor then mix with the spinach leaves and coconut water, grinding in the blender. Mix well. You can also make combinations with the ingredients of this juice to vary the daily intake. Drink this thyroid juice once a day.

Although the prescription is recommended for the prevention of thyroid diseases, it is recommended in people who have any disease of the same, consult with your private doctor to make sure if they can take them.
