The best source of inositol is the liver. Other sources include beans, peas, nuts, wheat, raisins, cantaloupe, bananas, citrus fruits, yeast, green leafy vegetables, and brown rice.
Inositol is also sold in supplement form and is regarded as a natural remedy for various health conditions. According to studies, one of the benefits of inositol is to induce sleep without the side effects of sleep medication, such as drowsiness and cloudy in the morning.
Inositol, taken before bed, has been found to significantly improve your quality of sleep and make you feel calm and relaxed. Inositol is generally well tolerated and has few and generally mild side effects. It should also be mentioned that alcohol and caffeine inhibit inositol.
