Onion and garlic soup for the flu

The idea that onion can prevent disease due to its strong medicinal properties dates back hundreds of years. Ancient Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine revered onion for its anti-inflammatory properties and for relieving congestion. Ancient Greeks rubbed onion on sore muscles and American Indians used it to prevent the common cold and flu. We can say the same and more about garlic. Its antibacterial properties prevent the formation of bacteria in times of colds and is also an excellent preventive. The onion soup and garlic cannot miss in your diet for flu prevention, and as a natural medicine for her, it’s tasty and powerful.

In fact, the World Health Organization has recognized onion for its ability to help alleviate flu symptoms; for example, coughs, congestion, respiratory infections, and bronchitis.  Some traditions have even recommended placing onion slices by the bed at night or simply around the house to prevent getting the flu.

The theory was that the raw onion would absorb the germs in the air, preventing them from entering the body. However, it should be noted that one of the most common ways of getting influenza is by contact with contaminated surfaces or people. Therefore, remember to wash your hands, especially before eating or scratching your eyes.
